In the Game, at the beginning a person can choose from three classes of characters. This is a very important decision because once a character is picked you can’t change it, not yet anyway.  Each character type has one big benefit, one top mafia sport and one bonus power. 

1. Mogul Character:   
2. • Primary benefit: Gets the 60 minute every 54 minutes     
   • Top Mafia Spot: Bagman   
   • Intermittent power:    You have a chance to earn double the money on a certain percentage of jobs when you occupy the Bagman spot in another person’s mafia   

2. Maniac Character:   
3. • Primary benefit: Energy rebuilds at one point every three minutes, rather than one point every five minutes     
   • Top Mafia position:    Button Man   
   • Come and go power:    When a maniac occupies the Button Man sport in another person’s crew you can attack a Mafia Wars person with superior stats, mafia size, weapons, armor and vehicles and have a chance to win the fight regardless     

3. Fearless Character:   
4. • Major benefit: Health returns faster, one point every two minutes as opposed to one every three.   
   • Top Mafia position: Wheel Man   
   • Unique Power:    As Wheel Man in someone else’s mafia, a Fearless character will be able to complete some jobs without putting out any energy
